Minelab SD2100

The SD2100 according to its manufacturer, Minelab, is "the best" even though it is many years old. The basic rundown of Minelab PI gold detectors is SD2000, SD2100, SD2200, GP Extreme, GP 3000, GP 3500, GPX4000. The printed proof is in the Gold Prospectors of America magazine for Jan/Feb 2008, page 32. Its find of funny when as of this writing 12-22-2007 a new SD2100 cost under $2,000.00 and a new GPX 4000 cost over $4,000.00. The latest model the GPX 4000 is touted as "the most advanced" but the good old SD2100 is called "the best". Kind of makes a guy wonder.

SD2100s can find a lot of gold. Gold so small it has no weight on a 1/10th grams scale as well as large gold nuggets.

He did not find them because he used an SD2100, its just a matter of who detected where. I'm no expert with the SD2100, I've used them and know a little about them but I'm a GP series user having both a GP Extreme and a GP 3500. From what I've seen of the SD2100 its a great gold detector and if you are looking to get started in nugget shooting and don't have $4,000.00 to spend on the "the most advanced" you might as well go ahead and get "the best".
