Thoughts on how to be a better prospector

• Do something different. Are you getting the same results time and time again? Its time for a change. The individual who seems to win the most is generally the one who is eager to gamble. Sure fire things are usually more smoke than fire.

• Never quit. If was easy everyone would be a prospector. Focus on the long run and take breaks when you feel burned out. You can always come back to prospecting later. Luck favors the hard working and determined.
  
  Believe. If you want to succeed act like it, believe it, say it.
  
  Don’t compare yourself to others. Everyone is different and has different talents. Focus on who and what you are, what you want to accomplish and then act on it. Plenty of other people will judge you but your self assessment is what counts.
  
  Pay attention to what you're doing. When you look at your others successes, they often skew the reality of your own. People relax and fall asleep looking a red hot fire. You will find your best accomplishments will be due to focus and patience more than talent.
  
  
  Do your own research. If you want to improve your skills dig in and learn. Come up with your own game plan. By doing so your appreciation of success will grow, you will empower yourself and gain confidence.
  
  It’s not just your equipment, it’s your location and methods. You can have the latest and greatest equipment of any kind and not find any gold if you are in the wrong location. Huge amounts of gold are left behind by those who reply upon one method of recovery. It’s better to diversify and have multiple methods of gold recovery instead of relying upon one.
  
  Listen to others, be willing to learn, keep an open mind. While you need to remain somewhat skeptic about every new bell and whistle you also have to keep an open mind. No matter how long you have been in the game I guarantee that none of us knows it all. You have to be willing to give new ideas a try.
