I think it is a prescribed burn....Could expose some bedrock.. :brows::ph34r:
I detected once in a burned area , and the charcoal stump areas gave signals...

That is on the back side from here, west side of Mingus Mt for the rest of you. Probably a control burn, I have been seeing the smoke over the Verde all day. Looks a lot worse from your vantage point!

If I did that it would be air polution. Controlled burn, isn't that F.S. speak for overtime?

Last night cold air inversion pulled the smoke down into the valley but as of 6:30 this morning there is none visible over the mountain. FS must have pulled an all nighter.
