Great topic, Rod. Its interesting to think of what the old timers thought and why they did things. Sometimes I look at old workings and say to myself - that was a stroke of genius -bet those guys got a lot of gold. On the other hand, sometimes I look at old workings and think - what in the (BLEEP) were you morons thinking!

I actually collected a whole bunch (almost 70) stories and histories of the old timers and their experiences. Some knew a lot (and were well worth reading their comments. Others knew very little. I am starting to get all these stories assembled on line, but its taking some time because there are so many. Check it out:
