That'll have the Chinese government crying in their beer. The Chinese and Indian governments have been buying gold like there's no tomorrow. Both governments have very small reserves of gold relative to the size of their nation's economies. I think that the demand created by their buying spree is one reason why the price of gold will continue to increase even if other commodities tank.
On a totally different note, why didn't they have some pictures with that article? Pictures of rooms full of treasure can be very motivating on these hot summer days.
