Frank and I got out to do a little exploring today and had a great time beer.gif

We took some very old roads which were literally falling apart and we hiked a distance to get to our destination.

The interesting part of the day occured when we were riding and some idiot in a newer style truck tried to run us off the road, literally mad.gif

After almost rear ending Frank (he saw the guy about to hit him in his quad mirrors) he came after me, just as I was entering a large puddle of water he came right in next to me and soaked my ass and I swallowed a mouth full of muddy water mad.gif

He came within inches of hitting my quad and damned near running me over pirate.gif

Yeah keep laughing asshole it gets better wink.gif

Frank and I lit out in pursuit at a somewhat safe distance but this guy was flooring it and once my speedometer hit 30 we backed off and let him go.

The funny part is once we turned around and went back to the trucks about 20 minutes later a few guys in Jeeps stopped and told us they saw the whole thing and just by sheer luck one of them is a police officer pop.gif

They were up on a ridge and he even thinks he got the guys license plate number with binoculars as they we glassing for game. Frank and I both game him our contact info and thanked him very much.

If the officer has the plate correct and a positive ID is made this idiot will be charged with:

1) Reckless Endangerment
2) Terroristic Threatening
3) Disorderly Conduct

And possibly more.

Some people just have total shit for brains. Both us and the cop and his friends got his truck make, window stickers and maybe (we'll see) his license plate number, there was a lot of dust but 6 eyes are better than 2 cool.gif

Frank and I both feel this douchebag could have killed us both which in our book is the same as a direct threat to our families. Not good mad.gif

Keep laughing asshole, you not only did something very stupid but you did it in front a wittness who is a cop ohmy.gif
Maybe we'll see you in court pop.gif

Like my attorney says: "We'll sue you, we'll sue everybody wacko.gif "

Back to the fun, here is a pic

That's great. After all those years of never seeing an authority figure within 20 square miles, there's actually one there when you need him.

Amazing. santa.gif

Chances are that vehicle was freshly stolen....you know the old saying, drive it like you stole it.....don't usually drive like that with 1's own equipment......and since alot of that goes on down there, be my guess it's stolen and getting totally trashed by the perp.

Yo, Rod...about 25 years ago I had a similar situation, but it included someone firing a gun toward my home and my daughter and her friends playing down by the creek in our front yard...I jumped in my truck and chased them down and we proceeded to have a five minute barrel to barrel standoff, guns cocked...We finally backed off and decided it wasn't a good day to die for either of us..Five years later the guy applied to my mining company to work as a cat operator... Various_Artists-blowup.gif ...Cost him a good bit of $ for my get-even ... Sometimes things happen that way...Cheers, Unc

There's a possibility in the senario of it being stolen.....yet the person had the confidence/knowledge of the "road" he/she was traveling on (as if they had traveled it in the past) at high speed.....I'd place a small bet on a different kind of "opperation". ohmy.gif

Add to that.....Assult with a Deadly Weapon (the truck)

Rod, did anyone stick around afterwards, long enough to see if this person followed the same path back down the road where you were parked? Also is there another way out of the area by continuing in a "forward" path without coming back down?

Take care Rod, glad neither of you suffered any injuries.

Gary

Rod You guys are lucky to survive a Quad versus pickup attact! I drive 10 to 12000 miles a month and the number of these "Road Rage" incidents I see is amazing. I usually get my perp though since I have an advantage. I have CB , cell phone ,Ham radio and 10,000 trucker buddies to observe, block and assist law enforcement too catch them. If they stay on the freeways they will be caught, night time its a little harder. I laugh & give the cops a thumbs up as I pass these idiots siting on the side of the road a few miles later trying to explain all the complaints away to a HP Officer.

Thats funny you say that John,
The pic was taken as a joke ( sort of poking fun at how serious some people take the hobbie). If you saw the rest of the picture you would see what I mean. laugh.gif
However, on really cold mornings that hunting mask is a blessing, and works very well with headphones. Various_Artists-walkman.gif

With the law watching it's a good thing you didn't introduce the jerk to your friend, Mr. Colt. Guys like that will sooner or later run out of luck. Too bad he didn't blow a couple of tires. You could have laughed while he walked out. Ken
